Day 1 – Nairobi - Kenya
Upon your arrival you will be welcomed by one of our representatives and briefed on your tour. If you are not too tired from the flight we suggest some sightseeing before checking into your hotel in the cooler morning hours. We suggest seeing Karen Blixen's home - made famous through the book and movie Out of Africa. Then we suggest visiting the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage where you can see rescued baby elephants up close. Finally, stop for a quick bite to eat at a local restaurant before visiting the Giraffe Centre or the Nairobi Museum for insight into Kenya's history. Then check into the Fairmont Nairobi and spend the evening relaxing.
Day 2 - Ol Pejeta, Mount Kenya, Kenya
Today your driver will meet you after breakfast and you will depart on a 3 hour journey to the famous Sweetwaters and Ol Pejeta region of Kenya near beautiful Mount Kenya. The journey takes you through the beautiful scenery of the areas historically known as the White Highlands. Ol Pejeta is a vast Conservancy that is well-known for its resident rhino population, its chimpanzee sanctuary and for having some of the greatest densities of wildlife in East Africa. All meals and overnight at Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
Day 3 - Sweetwaters Conservancy, Mount Kenya
This morning visit the Sweetwaters Conservancy and meet our closest primate relatives. This is the only place in Kenya where chimpanzees can be seen. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary was established with an agreement between the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) and the Jane Goodall Institute.
Day 4 - Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Kenya
See the great diversity of African wildlife while on a game drive. With the snowy peaks of Mt. Kenya as your backdrop, your safari in East Africa's largest black rhino sanctuary is sure to be as beautiful as it is diverse. Find yourself and the Big Five as you explore 90,000 acres of pure wild with an experienced guide who will share his expert knowledge with you. Venture out there for close encounters with elephants, wild dog, lion, hyena, buffalo, cheetah, rhino, and all the plains herbivores.
Day 5 - Nairobi, Kenya
Travel back through the scenic highlands to Kenya's bustling capital Nairobi.
Day 6 - Livingstone, Victoria Falls, Zambia
This morning you will board a flight from Kenya to the town of Livingstone in Zambia. Here you can see one of the natural wonders of the World - the mighty Victoria Falls. The cascade is one of the widest in the world when in full spate and is known to the locals as Mosi-ou-a-tunya - which translates as "the Smoke that Thunders". In the evening you can go on a tranquil sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Sip sundowners while watching animals such as elephants come down to drink.
Day 7 - Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Today we suggest that you purchase a visa and enter into Zimbabwe as the best view of the cascade is from this Zimbabwean side. We will arrange a guided tour of the Falls through the beautiful rainforest which is sustained by spray from the cascade. You can also stop off and enjoy wandering the curio markets or at an extra cost take a breathtaking helicopter ride of the Cascade which is called "the flight of the Angels".
Day 8 - Cape Town, South Africa
This morning you will catch a flight from Zambia to Cape Town in South Africa. You will be welcomed in this cosmopolitan city and driven to your hotel the Fire and Ice in the city center by one of our local guides. The rest of the day will be yours to spend at leisure. We suggest that you enjoy dinner at the scenic Cape Town Waterfront.
Day 9 - Cape Town, South Africa
Today we suggest that the driver take you on a guided tour of the Cape Peninsula. Explore the scenically beautiful Cape Peninsula today while on a full day tour to Cape Point. You will pass through the picturesque fishing villages of Hout Bay and Fish Hoek. The journey will take you through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve which is home to antelope such as bontebok and eland. Take a stroll up to the lighthouse at Cape Point and admire the scenery. On the return journey, you will stop at Boulders Beach where you can see a colony of land-based endangered African penguins and explore the naval base of Simonstown. You will return to Cape Town and might like to go to the Waterfront in the harbour and sip on refreshing sundowners while watching the sunset.
Day 10 - Cape Town, South Africa
Start your journey by taking the Cable Car to the top of iconic Table Mountain and taking in the views of the city and Table Bay. Then visit the site where District Six stood and learn about the mass evictions and whole suburb that was razed to the ground under the Apartheid government. Then travel to the Bo-Kaap, the Cape Malay quarter renowned for its brightly painted homes. Travel to the top of Signal Hill and witness the firing of the Noon Gun.
Day 11- Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands
Today you will head out to the beautiful Cape Winelands which are renowned for their verdant vineyards, pretty Cape Dutch architecture and not least fine vintages. You will visit several wine estates to enjoy wine tastings and visit the historic town of Stellenbosch. There are many interesting stores, curio shops and art galleries to explore in the centre of Stellenbosch.
Day 12 - Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands
Your driver will take you to some of the many renowned wine estates which occur in this region to enjoy wine tasting and some of the best gourmet food to be had in the country.
Day 13 - Franschhoek and Paarl, Cape Winelands
Drive to the nearby towns of Franschhoek and Paarl which are surrounded by award winning wine estates where you can take in the beautiful scenery and sample more fine wines. Franschhoek is considered to be the foodie capital of Southern Africa and there are many great eateries and fine dining establishments. The high street has many interesting shops to browse in.
Day 14 - Cape Town
Leaving the winelands behind your driver will take you back to the airport to catch your return flight home.
